ROTC-JROTC Medal Recipients

April and May normally signify the beginning of the presentation of Silver ROTC Medals to 11 college cadets, soon to become commissioned officers in their respective branch of service, and Bronze JROTC Medals to 13 high school junior cadets. It is a time for celebrations throughout the state of Utah. The Utah Society SAR makes a effort to attend each of these awards ceremonies to pay honor to those chose by their military leaders for these honors. The JROTC cadets that are selected as the Top Cadet is invited to attend the Society’s May Celebrate America and Awards Banquet and received a Silver JROTC Medal. This page reflects some of activities throughout the season.

2025 State JROTC Winner – Cadet Major Katie A. Santiago

Cadet Major Santiago’s essay was forward to the National Society for the annual JROTC essay contest. Her essay was selected the best and she was invited to attend the 2025 Congress in Uncasville, CT with her mother to be awarded the Gold JROTC Medal and receive a scholarship check for $6000. Congratulations Cadet Major Santiago!
