We the UTAH SOCIETY, SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION (Utah SAR) are a unit of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution (National SAR). In 1906, the National Society was chartered by an Act of the United States Congress through the assistance of Col. Theodore Roosevelt, who at the time was President of the United States and a member of SAR. The Utah SAR has been a organized society of the National SAR since 27 January 1895.
We are excited that you have an interest in the Sons of the American Revolution. On behalf of the Utah SAR, we would like to extend an invitation to you to submit an application to join with our Society. The Sons of the American Revolution is an organization of men eighteen years of age or older who are descended from a recognized patriot who supported the cause of the American Revolutionary War.
The objectives of the Sons of the American Revolution are to promote the ideals of PATRIOTISM, provide essential EDUCATION and preserve the true HISTORY of America’s founding. Do you have any brothers or sons eighteen years or older? If so, we cordially extend this invitation to them as well. If you have any sisters or daughters, we can assist them with membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
The DAR is our sister organization and we value all their efforts in teaching and leading the women in the great cause of Liberty and Patriotism. There is also an organization for individuals under the age of eighteen, for both boys and girls, to learn more about and develop a greater appreciation and love for this great country. This organization is the Children of the American Revolution (CAR). The CAR is overseen by both the DAR and SAR.
Our organizations are non-denominational and non partisan. Those who become members are from all walks of life, we enjoy a diversity of God fearing people who love liberty and have strong feelings for the sacrifices and contributions of the Founding Fathers.
We have enjoyed selfless support and generosity of all members who have shared their time and talents to the Utah Society. Believing in virtue, valuing self-governance, liberty and freedom, we are all compatriots in perpetuating the ideals of the American Revolution.
